My go to Hawaiian food! I have tried most of their menu and it's all good with large portions. I love both their Chinese chicken salad and their cabbage salad sides. The katsu is not over breaded, super crispy and delicious: They have a catering menu as well, in case you have a party and need bulk food for an event. The shaved ice with flavoring was delish as well. The staff, very friendly.

The menu is pretty extensive. There is a lunch combo side with drinks and then a favorite dinner portion side with big plates. The service is fast and the presentation is pretty good. Very fresh warm food. The macaroni ball is not as good as Ono Hawaiian and is little more complex with more ingredients. The cabbage slaw is complex with good texture play. Benishoga red ginger bar by the utensils The best item is the Katsu - very airy and supper crispy and light! Must go.....

Love love love Island Hut. The portions are generous and the prices are great. I know there is Ono down the street but their prices are so high and the amount of food given doesn't even compare. Support local businesses and try Island Hut! Their entire menu is great

Got the Teriyaki Beef Special. The winner was their Chinese Chicken Salad. The Mac Salad was a little off. Perhaps, some of the salad dressing got onto the Mac Salad. Service was friendly and fast.

I've been here a few times and it always satisfies my teriyaki craving. I've heard good things about their other food but haven't really tried anything else but the chicken and beef teriyaki. I haven't been in a while and got the teri beef and chicken plate. Automatically regretted when it came out lol It's HUGE. Next time I will remember to get something smaller. Def enough for two to share unless you can eat a huge portion. Comes with mac salad and Chinese chicken salad- both are good. Would recommend the chicken teri over the beef here although beef is usually my preference (azuma's beef teri in gardena is my fav) I appreciate that they don't glop on the teriyaki sauce. They have many condiments inside : a green cilantro sauce, beni shoga, sriracha, sambal, teriyaki sauce and shoyu. Plenty of seating inside as well.

"Island Hut" is a hidden gem sitting in plain sight. It's located on the corner of Lomita Blvd (x) Pennsylvania Ave--50 yards from the major intersection of Lomita Blvd (x) Crenshaw Blvd. The format is fast casual. You go to the counter to order and pay. If you are dining in, someone on staff will bring your food to the table. The dining room is clean and reasonably comfortable. There are two TVs on the walls. There's plenty of parking. This restaurant features a lot of meal sets you find if you were in Hawaii--spam and eggs, teriyaki, chicken katsu, ect. Primarily, I go for the loco moco. It's a hamburger patty and two eggs (sunny side up), served on top of steamed rice with beef gravy. There's also a side serving of macaroni salad. With a fountain drink and tax, my ticket is under $20.00. We don't have Zippy's in California, and this store spares me a drive to Gardena.

Delicious food with very large portions!! Workers are friendly. Sit down service to your table. Very happy here!!! Teriyaki plate was great and the mac salad and salad were delicious. Island fries were also great and have meat

Clean restaurant and friendly staff. Had the fried chicken (Karaage) and Salmon teriyaki. Both proteins cooked nicely. Decent portion sizes. Comes with cabbage salad with chicken, Mac salad and rice.

I love Hawaiian food and today I found this really good spot. Come with me! Highlights of the menu: 1. Poke bowl 2. Teriyaki beef and chicken with rice 3. Grilled salmon with chow mein

This is our new go to place when we are in the South Bay or just passing through. This place is amazing and is always busy every time we go. They have indoor dining for a good amount of people and also a few tables outside if you go during a busy time. The menu is great and so many selections. They have some great Hawaiian selections too. The few times I have been there, I have gotten the Chicken Katsu plate and the Teriyaki plate. Your food come with white rice and a salad. The dressing in the salad is really good so it is a must. With your Katsu plate, you actually get macaroni salad instead of the rice. That is pretty yummy too. They also have shaved ice on the menu so that is a must on our next visit. So we will be back and hope to run into my fellow Yelpies next time!
